Fush & Chups – Burger Review

What says kiwi summer more than Fish and Chips? not much right?

Well, the fine people over at Burgerfuel decided to make that into a burger – and you won’t believe what happened next..

Click bait jokes aside, Burgerfuel is well known for some pretty interesting burger creations, this isn’t the first time they have done this one but its the first time I have reviewed it so buckle up bitches

FireStone Fish Burger

Beer Battered Snapper Fillet
Chunky Tartare Sauce
Salads
Relish
on a wholemeal bun

Burger only – $14.90
Meal with spud fries + L&P $21.30

Where to begin, when you start messing around with something as classic as Fish and Chips you’re on a fine line, not to mention its one of those very subjective things that everyone has their own preferance.. I know some people travel well out of their local area for good fish and chips and I’ve paid over $25 for a meal and its been shite (karve st heliers)

Usually when I see a new burgerfuel burger I’l put it out on FB and see whos keen to go over the coming days, but this time I was there the day I saw the advertising, it was just too awesome an Idea to pass up or let simmer. We headed over to Mt mounganui for a nice walk etc #nzsummer and upon arrival there was no question as to that’s where we were going. Thankfully we missed the lunch crowd so parking was a piece of cake and we were served and seated right away

At $21.50 it sounds rather expensive to most, however if you were to get the same amount of food from say, mcdonalds ( i just threw up in my mouth a bit) you’d be paying more for less anyway so bang for buck is good if you can afford the splurge, burgerfuel has never been a cheap option but as a whole they are always quality so you do get what you pay for

Again I stress, this is an easy thing to get wrong and we know BF haven’t hit home runs ever time last year #harajukugate2k16 for example

But this… this they did right..

It’s so simple it’s almost hard to explain, its fish and chips in a burger, Oh point to make, in the picture they added chips to the burger, I didn’t but I feel like its worth doing next time, cause there will be a next time cause its that good.

But yeah, Fish and chips in a burger, Imagine some of the best you’ve had then wrap it in a bun, as per typical Burgerfuel I did half the amount of lettuce in my burger which is standard practice for me, not that I have anything against the green stuff, its just about ratios.. So yeah, it was good, bloody good, wasn’t soggy at all and I was surpirsed that the relish worked but it did for me

If i had to find a criticism I might say my fish was a little over done, BUT I kinda like that so it worked our as a bonus for me

Anywho solid 8.5/10 from me

Will nom again for sure
