Moppies Hops – Garage Project Lack Of Faith
Lack Of Faith has been around for a while, put being produced in limited runs of cans only, it is not always easy to find.
As a beer it promises a lot, all the best bits of a dark stout or porter, with all of the best bits of a hoppy IPA.
It requires a leap of faith to believe these things are possible, having a lack of faith may send you turn you to the dark side.
Fortunately Garage Project are no stranger to dark IPA’s, having produced some excellent examples in the past.
And just like all of their beer, this one delivers on its promises.
It pours a lovely deep black colour, with a good head loaded with hoppy floral aromas and some hints of tropical fruit. The first mouthful is full of all of the coffee and chocolate goodness you expect from a dark beer, but the heavy sticky malty aftertaste that often follows such great flavours is replaced by a fresh hit of hops. Loads of citrus, especially grapefruit, and it all ends with a cleansing bitterness. From there it is a matter of sip and repeat to enjoy this excellent hoppy porter.
It is a great beer, in a can with some great design. Perfect for fans of Darker beers and IPA’s, it is proof that the Dark Side and Light Side can come together to make something even more powerful.
If you can find it, grab a couple and enjoy.
