Hey team, first of all huge apologies for my absence from here for the last few months, my work life and some personal stuff have been getting in the way of my regular posts! But enough about that, I’m back onboard now, and keen to bring you all the latest motorbike news and product reviews in our new weekly segment – Two Wheel Tuesdays!
To kick things off this week, I’d like to share a really awesome experience I had very recently. My personal bike has just come home from a full suspension package upgrade, and needed to have the new rear shock and front forks “dialled in” to my weight and riding style requirements.
I met Dillon Telford and Jo Taylor from TR20 Workshop and Race Team at the AutoMania car and bike show last year, and they instantly struck me as awesome people. Dillon rides a highly modified Aprilia RSV4 Superbike on track, and has a few pretty cool achievements to his name. He recently competed at the BEARS Central Thunder race meeting at Manfield Raceway, and earned two pole positions, a huge six race wins, and a new BEARS lap record! All on a bike that has been out of action for the last 4 months. Very impressive, I think!
At home on their humble Tirau based farm, Dillon and Jo have converted a barn shed into a fully equipped workshop, catering to all types of motorcycle servicing, maintenance, and repairs. Dillon has worked with the one and only Dave Moss for three years, learning all the secrets of motorcycle suspension, and I was very happy to drop my bike off to him to tune my new rear shock and forks. With only basic instructions, the job was turned around in record time, I picked it up the very same day! Now, my bike handles better than ever before, the suspension is fantastic. Not only that, Dillon and Jo fixed a couple of things I was unaware of, at no extra charge. When it comes to trustworthy service, I can highly recommend these guys. Their services range from basic to full servicing, supplying new tires and parts, to repairing accident damage, and of course they are expert suspension technicians as well.
Suffice to say, my bike now handles better than it ever has before! Dillon explained exactly what he had done to make it work properly, giving me detailed information on settings, as well as a couple of his personal little secret ‘tricks’ to make the whole setup work together. All in all, it’s more stable, comfortable, and doesn’t fight me in the turns or under hard braking anymore. What more could you ask for?
If you’re looking for an honest, reliable, and effective motorcycle workshop, from now on I’ll only be taking my bike to Dillon and Jo. Find them online at www.facebook.com/TelfordRacing/
Drop them a message and see what they can help you with on your bike!
Next week we’re going to take a close-up look at the new Alpinestars Motegi V2 leather race suit, keep your eyes out for that!
