Land Rover recently used the new Discovery Sport to prove how easy it is to tow a train.
Once you overcome the rolling resistance, moving anything on wheels becomes quite easy, even when it weighs 108 tons.
With about 180hp and 317 lb-ft of torque the little Disco did a great job of staying together while it pulled the train in Switzerland, assisted only by some small train wheels to guide it down the tracks.
While it’s not much of a demonstration of power, it is a great demo of traction control and an even better demo of how strong the Discovery Sports unibody frame is, as all 108 tons was connected to the factory tow bar.
