Hungry Wolf Motorcycles and NZ Blokes announce Wind Therapy initiative supporting mental health through biking
The Empire Media Group today announces its new mental health initiative, Wind Therapy. After struggling with mental health for many years, the founder of this initiative, Nic Scott, found support through his riding community and wants to share this same support to Kiwis who need it.
Wind Therapy encourages Kiwis to experience the world of Motorcycling, Aside from the actual joy of riding, there is so much more to it, from the community you’ll be a part of to the tinkering with your machine and working with your hands. You’ll make life long friends with the shared joy of being a motorcycle rider.
Through Wind Therapy,
Riding is about fixing up your bike when it breaks down, making modifications to make it how YOU want YOUR bike. We just want to showcase that with some inspiration from the very talented Kelvin from Hungry Wolf Motorcycle so show just what can be done in a shed with the right attitude and some support from friends. All of this pulls together to underline what is a pandemic of Mental Health in our Kiwi Men. So many struggle and not enough is being done, there is still a stigma around talking about our feelings and what we need to face the day. Which is where all of us came together to send a clear message. It’s okay to not be okay, talk to your friends.
The first viewing of the giveaway bike will be at the New Zealand Motorcycle Show at ASB Showgrounds, October 5th and 6th 2024. The raffle will be hosted online to make it possible for anyone in New Zealand to take part. We’re keeping ticket pricing relative to $20 or less again to make it accessible to a wider audience. The first reveal will show the direction of where the bike is going, however as we have been gifted a charity stand there will not be ticket or merch sales on the day, this is an exposure exercise to get the word out to the right people.
We are Documenting all parts of this journey, When we started this, we didn’t know how to achieve what we wanted to do. This community has stood up and showed up for the goal because they too know the value in this lifestyle we’ve chosen.
Pictured here is Emma Simpson who has donated her time and skills to paint Red Rocket to its former glory with Big Nik and Kelvin.
WE love the power social media can have, pulling together like minded people to achieve something truly special. Which is why we’re using all the major social platforms, from Facebook, YouTube and Instagram to Tiktok.
On the Empire YouTube channel, is the journey and behind the scenes of learning, sharing and bringing in friends and sponsors to show what the process has looked like from buying the first giveaway bike to delivering it to a lucky winner
Kelvin of Hungry Wolf Motorcycles is Documenting the bikes build, in great detail. We know people love a project and Kelvin has the talent to both entertain and create something very special.
Ticketing
We are currently working through the best options for ticketing. We are adamant that there be a cap of $20 per entry so that this is open to as many people as possible, along with that, we are hoping to have an online ticket element so that we can make this nation wide and really get that conversation happening with all kiwis. Not only do we want to showcase the talents of Kelvin at Hungry Wolf Motorcycles, we want to be unbreakably linked with the idea of of talking about Mental Health. The Bike giveaway and the Mental Health conversation should and will be the same conversation.
