Have you ever felt that a Mercedes G wagon just wasn’t enough? Or that the Hummer H1 was a bit of a wussy car. Do you wake up in the morning and feel that only way to assert yourself on upon the world is behind the wheel of a bullet proof truck?
Then you need a Dratz.
Not content with adding armour to existing designs, Dratz make their own chassis and add fully customisable and bespoke coachwork to it, allowing for 6 different levels of armour protection. At its lowest level they claim you are safe from hand guns, while at the highest level you should be protected from an RPG.
Normally powered by a selection of GM Vortec V8s, including the 8100, or a 6.6L Duramax, power goes to all 4 wheels via an Allison 6 speed auto. They have recently added, or at least claim to have added, AMG Twin Turbo V8 and V12 engines to options list, with a top speed of 250kph. Given the kerb weight of 3500kgs for the lowest level of armour, that seems a bit optimistic.
Inside the standard trim is lashings of leather, heated and power seats and a fancy stereo, but you can add as much luxury as you like, including diamonds embedded in the gauges.
Made in Latvia, no one actually knows how many have been sold, or even how successful they are, but their website makes some pretty outrageous claims. Look out for one at your nearest dodgy car dealer.
