Yeastie Boys The Sly Persuader.
Fuck me, someone mixed wine into my beer!
And I like it!
Yeastie Boys are known for pushing boundaries and being a little daring with mixing flavours, and this is a great example of that work.
Aged by for 18 months and made from an invert sugar derived from reduced wine, this is a complex and wonderful mouthful of collaboration.
There is white wine fruitiness on the nose then a nice mix of fruit in the mouth with gentle bitterness. Some apricot sour off sets the sweetness and it closes with gentle citrus on the aftertaste.
Interesting reading reviews from people who drank it fresh, it appears the aging process has improved this beer a lot, adding some sour tones for balance.
I love it and want more!
