THE EMPIRE
We popped into the Speights ale house in Wanaka pretty much because it was the closest place to where we were staying and we needed a good feed after a long day!
Given we got there a bit early for the dinner rush we ordered a round of Speights (cause when in Rome)
The restaurant is well laid out and the staff overall were really friendly and good for a laugh, interestingly i think the only one that was Kiwi was the manager ( who didn’t know what a Margarita was or how to make it ( but that’s another story and no it wasn’t mine haha))
As we were looking through the menu there was a general consensus that we should try the Ribs, the waitress proposed a challenge when she said ” don’t feel bad if you can’t finish it. Needless to say we stepped up to the challenge and it was well worth it. That said at $32.50 it was a pretty hefty price to pay but the plate was well loaded so to be fair it’s pretty good value if you’re hungry as we were
Over all it was a nice family friendly environment and everyone had a pretty good time, alas if you try wind up the waitress she bites
We’d give the Speights Ale House Wanaka a 7 out of 10
