Alpha Board – Electric Skateboard Review

We made the most of the clear afternoon and took the Aplha Board by Mavic Brothers out for a hoon around the city.

Claimed range 15km – untested
Claimed top speed 35km/h – feels faster
Claimed charge time: 3 hours – loosely confirmed, was not totally flat but we did some math
Claimed 25% hill grade climb – Confirmed, even with my fat ass

Powered by 20x 18650 samsung batteries 4.0ah @ 36volts – as stated, heaps of grunt

It has a ” smart turn on ” which basically means it’l turn on when you throw it in the boot, or the car or set it down anywhere. This feature proved rather annoying pretty quickly as whenever it was set down or placed for transport it had to be turned off and placed again carefully

They do testing days aswell if you want to have a go, I plan on taking it out for a longer trip next time!
