One Month To Go – Finally Fighting

After hanging up the phone on Friday afternoon with my trainer, a wave of emotions and adrenaline came over me, leaving me like a giddy kid who’s finally getting to go on the scary ride at the theme park.

I’d just had my fight confirmed and  I was so happy that I couldn’t eat thanks to all the adrenaline.

It’s half a month earlier than I was planning for and on a different show than my gym’s one but I’m stoked I finally get to go into the ring.

The fun part is, is that I won’t be fighting with shin guards on (Usually for your first 2-3 fights, you wear shin guards to protect your shins and get used to fighting) but due to the other person already having a couple of fights, I’ll be going in for some shin on shin action.

That means that my kicks will do a lot more damage and are a bit easier to throw which will be great, but I’ll also cop a fair whack too I’m sure.

So now I have to cut about 5-6 kg’s so I’ve been cooking up meals with complex carbs, proteins and some good ol’ leafy greens to give me enough energy to train and to help cut down on the weight.

Just have to make sure I don’t eat any sweets till after the fight. Which will be a big struggle!

It’s time to get stuck into training and get my cardio up there so that I don’t gas out too much from the adrenaline dump when you get into the ring.
