Our First Look at Destiny 2

Today was a good day!

Bungie gave us our first at Destiny 2, the anticipated sequel to…well, Destiny. The gameplay trailer that was dropped really did not disappoint, and the video game community seems to be frothing at the loins at it, more than usual as well because they all realised Destiny 2 is not going to be a console exclusive. Yes, it’s coming to PC if you forgot, and will be playable in silky smooth 60fps at 4K resolution from what the reports are saying, I’ll take that with a grain of salt though. Destiny 2 will be playable on PC through Blizzard’s battle.net, as Blizzard is the parent company of Activision, the publishers of Destiny and Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 will be a new beginning for all players, old, new, male or female. There will be no transferring of characters over from Destiny to Destiny 2, which I feel is a great decision as the Destiny community wasn’t full of grinders who put hours upon hours into the game like some gamers did (Me), to get the most powerful gear especially after they found out how lackluster the story was, so everyone will be on even ground when Destiny 2 drops. The lackluster and broken story of Destiny is what Bungie hopes to amend in Destiny 2 with a more narratively engaging, better-told campaign, do not worry, they didn’t forget what the awesome-yet-flawed multiplayer modes provided and what they could do to make it better. Strikes are set to be improved upon, instead of just running through the majority of it to the end. One strike shown was to be like a mini-raid with multiple boss fights while still having an excellent mix of platforming and gunning down your usual enemies. Fingers crossed the other strikes are just as intense.

Some unfortunate news to come from this launch was the singular use of the word “Raid”, Destinys biggest and most difficult PvE mode, meaning Destiny 2 will more than likely be released with one raid under its belt. FeelsSadMan.

PVP has had a big tweak, dropping PVP activities in Desitny from 6V6 to 4V4 in Destiny 2. I’m interested if they feel like the smaller team format will be a better draw for esports or that it is just better for the PVP flow.
PVP has a new mode called Countdown that will be an Attack/Defend format.

Desinty 2 gameplay looks to be an improvement on Destiny, but that’s going by looks. Decide for yourself on how it looks, watch the videos below and decide whether you’ll be getting it on PS4, Xbox One OR! PC?!

Destiny 2 releases on September 8th, 2017. Note that down
