Logitech G A50 X: Elevating Multi-System Gaming to New Heights

Meet the Logitech G A50 X – the headset that’s about to revolutionise the multi-platform gaming experience. Unboxing this beauty feels like unwrapping a present – sleek design (as always with most Astros), lightweight build, and the promise of gaming greatness.

Packed with cutting-edge features, this headset is a game-changer for multi-system players who demand top-tier performance and versatility.

You’re not here for the fluff so let’s dive into the specs and features.

Specs + Features

Design & Comfort:

Comfort is king, and the A50 X knows it. With memory foam ear cushions and an adjustable headband, it’s like a cozy blanket for your ears…until you get to those marathon gaming sessions where it acts like insulation and your ears start sweating. At 363 grams, you’ll barely notice it’s there though. Having a plastic headband does make the headset feel more flimsy but it does add to the lightweightedness of it.

Multi-platform Connectivity Masterpiece:

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show – the PlaySync technology. This isn’t just a headset; it’s a multi-system wizard. Xbox, PlayStation, PC – it plays nice with all of them simultaneously. Switching between platforms is as easy as tapping your fingers, though you do need your console(s) and PC all next to each other for the cords to reach and work with the PlaySync technology, and the Base Station’s magnetic charging cradle? While it is nice, it can be annoying to get the headset to fit on the charging ports, like trying to get a USB in the first go.

Oh, and that HDMI 2.1 Passthrough? It’s not just tech jargon; it’s the secret sauce for incredible graphics. However, setting up the HDMI and USB combo might feel a bit like decoding a gaming puzzle.

Audio Excellence:

When it comes to sound, the A50 X doesn’t mess around. Those 40mm PRO-G GRAPHENE drivers deliver audio clarity that’ll make you hear things in games you never knew were there (again). Logitech G HUB customisation, Dolby Atmos, Windows Sonic, and 3D Audio? The audio options for gaming are diverse and endless. Controlling your game/chat mix? On-ear controls got your back.

Lightspeed Wireless Freedom & Bluetooth:

Cut the cord and embrace the freedom with Lightspeed wireless technology. No lag, a range of up to 12 meters, and a 24-hour playtime – it’s a wireless dream. The omnidirectional microphone makes you loud and clear (does not improve skills). Seriously, some of the people I game with on a regular basis had to ask who it was when I spoke up. Bluetooth dual-device mixing? Sure thing. It’s like having a DJ setup for your gaming audio. But, let’s address the elephant in the room – the price tag might make your wallet flinch a bit.

Logitech G A50 X in the Base Station

I enjoyed my time with the Logitech G A50 X, as you have read it has some very great features and specs and has proven its worth at being an excellent gaming headset. But there is some drawbacks.

The Logitech G A50 X isn’t just a headset; it’s a gaming sidekick. Pricey? Yeah, a bit, it’ll be out soon for about…$799.00 (price at time of review).
Do I think for the simultaneous connection wizardry, impeccable sound, and the freedom to switch platforms effortlessly, that it’s a premium experience worth every dollar? No, sadly I don’t. It’s a bit of a convoluted system that needs the consoles and PC near each other for it to work together. Most gamers probably don’t have this kind of set up.

I feel there are better alternatives in the market at a cheaper rate that can do very similar things. If you have the money though, it’s a decent option.

A fair 7.5/10
