Review

Logitech have long been known as a staple of reliability and affordability within the tech and gaming space, I’ve still got a set of desktop speakers that haven’t failed in 10 years almost and still look like they aren’t dated. You could almost liken them to the Toyota of the Techworld. Over the years Logitech have transformed some of their products to meet the expectations of consumers, with the G brand focusing on higher end gaming products with all the flashy lights etc. Coming from a place of known quality they had added the fruity stuff on top of years of experience in the more affordable space, so branching into the more premium offerings was easy with that much experience.

Often we get hands on with these new bits of tech long before prices are known and we just have to review them on the known experience as apposed to being able to compare, I didn’t know how much these were going to cost when I first started using them. I was sceptical of the mic however after some good seat time, I quite like this headset.

Styling is contemporary with function on show, in a subtle and enjoyable way, I like the curled cable connecting the band to the cans, and they have kept the colour ways fairly simple with their classic Lilac being the only colour variant at this stage over black and white. I like a white piece of tech, they look cleaner and more premium in my opinion. I first test drove these on a work meeting, which in hindsight isn’t the best thing because it was a pretty important client meeting, but as they know this is the sorta thing we do, we gave it a whirl. I wasn’t missed on anything I said nor asked to repeat, and I asked the team ( also all tech people) how they rated the microphone and they said it was as good as our other chats, which is generally done on my Artics Pro which is a very good DAC system, and more than twice the price. Also over discord the chat was on point, I’m told the clarity and pick up is good. Which is impressive when you look closely and realize there is no boom and its having to filter out other sounds that might exist between the source and the pick up.

Sound in the ears was great, I’d say for the price they are good value and good volume. The lightspeed connection seems to carry a more stable and better quality signal than standard bluetooth, I would however welcome the ability to connect multiple devices to a single dongle. ( if that’s possible let me know) – things like that would help me invest in a wireless ecosystem for my set up. and given the devices are good enough these days to rival what I am using and have invested a – ‘ not insignificant amount of money into ‘ its really raising the bar for the ascetic of the set up as much as its performance.

Wear-ability was very good. These are light, only 212g. That makes a big difference to me when I’m doing long stints of video editing and I have heavy ass drivers sitting either side of my head, the sound reproduction to me is good enough that I would welcome the comfort gain over the performance loss in some cases. perhaps not mastering but for gaming or chatting they are hard to beat.

Overall I’d say this is a great option for someone whos a bit of an all rounder and wants a lightweight headset that is clean and simple but performs above its weight class.
