Good job making it this far, most dudes don’t want to think about taking care of themselves,
so I’m glad you got here. I’m going to share my routine which is really simple to follow and
slots right into your daily routine. The products I’m using at the moment are all from Triumph and Disaster, some I’ve bought
and some were gifted. I found this brand via friends and we’ve been mates since.
Lets start in the morning.
Face Cleanser:
What does it do? – soap on its own is designed to clean and just that, it takes everything
including the good oils that you want. A good cleanser will be designed to clean and protect
it should also work towards calming irritation, regular use should / can clear up acne from
overly oily / sweaty skin too. Some will also include a micro abrasive for a little polish, more
on polishing later…
Either when you’re in the shower or brushing your teeth, you can start your day fresh and
clean, Usually I do this when I brush my teeth but if I have time in the morning I’ll do it in the
shower. I get a couple peas worth of what feels like a gritty cream on my fingers and work it
in circles all over my face, I do my neck as well as I am typically close shaven its nice to
work it around. Takes maybe a minute to give it a good working in with your fingers. Rinse it
off and you’re done. This one I use is gentle enough to use twice daily, I tend to only do it the once.
Moisturizer:
What does it do? – as the name implies, it will add moisture to your skin. There are many
levels of quality as you can imagine, and to an extent you get what you pay for. Going
organics can be worth it if you have sensitive skin, there is a lot of crap pumped into these
kinda products, especially at the lower price points.
For example, I used CeraVe for a while, it was great. I liked it, it was a jump up from the
Nivea I used to get at the supermarket. But.. Gameface for me was a game changer, I
reviewed it as my new favourite and I’ve been buying it since.
Moisturizer can be used morning and night, if you want or need. It really depends on your
skin I didn’t take care of my skin when I was younger and its a bit fucked now. So a smiple
routine like this can slowly unfuck it, happy days.

I just get a finger scoop about the size of the pad of my finger, dot my face forehead and
either side and work it in. that’s it. Feels great and I walk out the door with a little more
confidence. All in, adding that to my morning bathroom visit before I head out adds about 3-4
mins to my bathroom time. It’s not a big investment of time.
I might use a cleanser after a work out as well, if im that sweaty and I can feel it, I feel better
knowing I’ve washed it off and its not going to sit there and cause any irritation or
aggravation like a pimple or something.
Then you go have a rad day.
Evening
Before you go to bed, once you’re in the bathroom brushing your teeth.
I use a combo of Hydrating cream and an Eye Serum.
What does a Hydrating cream do? – It’s more than a moisturizer, its also working to repair
your skin and tighten everything up a bit.
Picked right from the T&D website, Clinical trials show the long-term efficacy of this
polyphenolic extract, a wonder ingredient that promotes healthy collagen
production .
This goes on about the same as the moisturizer, this is basically doing a similar job but with
a few more features. Just a few dabs on the face for even coverage and work it in gently.
Then,The Eye Serum is working similar to the hydrating cream however, because the skin around
your eyes is different, and ages and wears in different ways, this is a similar idea but just for
the skin around your eyes. Just a tiny bead on your finger tip and work it around the skin
beneath and beside your eye. Be careful not to poke yourself in the eye.
That’s it, you’re overnight sorted and ready for your bed. That added all of 3-4 mins whilst
brushing your teeth
Bonus round.
Exfoliating:
What is it? : its a cut and polish for ya mug. You can use either a product on its own or you
can add a scrub pad which you can get from any Kmart or bathroom isle at the supermarket.
This one is gona be gritty, and its gona take a little more time and effort, this only need be
done at most once a week but not more than every few days. Weekly is probably about right
for me but your milage may vary.

Get a decent blob on your hand, about a 3cm squirt should do it. Get it on your fingers and
work it in circles all over your face. Take your time, a little pressure is alright. This is going to
take all the dead cells off your face and polish it up a bunch. You might want to spend up to about 10
mins on this. For the whole process. You can over do this, it is abrasive so tread lightly. You
might get red after and that’s probably saying you’ve gone and overdone it. But your face will
be “repairing” right away and that means you’ll be a bit red and possibly look washed out. So
don’t do this right before heading out, this is a lazy self care sunday thing. ideally this exfoliating step is done twice weekly
Mindset

I keep this routine the same way I keep my gym routine, I know that if I can be lazy I will, but
I’ll regret it later, so.. To avoid regret, I make sure I keep up all of my routines as much as
reasonably possible. I know I need to brush my teeth cause those fuckers are expensive
when they go wrong. I think of a lot of this just like preventive maintenance. If I do it now I
wont regret it later. I’m really pleased that I’ve been able to keep this up, along with my
fitness and other things I’ve structured into my life. I feel better and more confident for it and
that’s helping me stay ontop of everything else.
Triumph and Disaster
Big thanks to T&D on this collaboration, I’ve learnt a lot of what I know and impliment into my daily from these guys. They have been super supportive of us and what we’re doing so we’re really pleased to have the relationship with them that we do, they are local, by locals and they source local, natural ingredients to bring a great range of skincare to the shelves, if you’re ever in Ponsonby swing by and meet the team and get some great advice on what is going to work best for you. Here’s a few words from the boss about their new fragrance that I’ve been wearing lately and very much enjoying.
