Time Warp Burger

So this might be a little tricky as the circumstances around this weeks burger review were somewhat unconventional but I shall do my best!

First things first,

We were filming a webisode and we chose The Jukebox Diner because it was comical to take an ultra modern car there and cause our mate worked there and I had really been meaning to get down and check this place out.

We were late to get to the diner and they had very kindly waited for us to get there and make us some tasty burgers. As in Keeping with the tradition of Burger reviews I ordered ” The Beef one” without looking at the menu and I was a bit surprised with what turned up.

” The Beef one” is actually the Shredded Beef, not a pattie this instantly threw me off guard as I was expecting something more like a whopper style burger.

The Shredded Beef

Shredded Beef
Tomato relish
Home-made Chipotle
Aioli
Swiss Cheese
$15 – All burgers served on custom made gourmet bap with American Slaw (coleslaw)

Presentation for this was awesome, we were kinda buzzing and losing our shit over how well themed this place was and the food presentation didn’t let us down at all, Looked amazing with a generous helping of cirly fries which were super crunchy and tasty

Right, this burger…. The size was good for me, bigger than most but not ridiculous we both finished our burgers and fries and were feeling very well fed without having over done it as an example I would say ever so slightly smaller than a burgerfuel burger but I didn’t have a tape measure so it might have been about the same size.

Mouth feel was pretty damn good, the combo of the shredded beef against the coleslaw was different and quite welcome, I had expected the beef to start falling apart like most burgers but some magic must have happened behind the scenes to keep it all together cause this burger stayed in tact almost right to the end which is both rare and an achievement in itself. Speaking of the beef, there was plenty I think perhaps more than I would have got from an equlivilent pattie style burger.. This made me happy

Overall This burger was a different yet awesome experience I give it a 8.5/10 – I will be back, and I will have to indulge in some of the many other awesome offerings on their Menu – My date Jason had a Chicken special with Crispy fried chicken, bacon cranberry and Camembert which he said was awesome

It’s a bit hard to comment on the service as I mentioned we were there as they closed and we were served by a friend so it was quite a casual encounter but I can say that Anjel will take great care of anyone that comes in and add together all the themeing and nostalgia I would be surprised to find anyone had a problem with the staff or service

If you wana check them out It’s well worth the trip down once you see whats behind Door number 2, the classics car museum.. More Info HERE on the Diner and Museum
